RESTING ON MOVEMENT
My class and I visited the city of Istanbul on a study trip. The project to follow was a renewal of the entrance to the famous Basilica Cistern. I choose to change the position of the entrance, making it easier to spot for the public, and intertwine it with the local social life of the park above the cistern by making the roof and walls of the entrance places to sit down and rest.
I wanted to give the site something new, exciting and interesting. The sculpural form is based on the patterns of movements of the site.
The project is an experiment in Rhino and 3DStudioMax, rather than realistic or affordable.
